I love thrift store shopping! You never know what you will find, and it's such a money saver! One of my favorite thrift stores, is located right behind my neighborhood, and I shop there at least once a week.
It's called "St. Francis Thrift Store", which is a Christian thrift store, that accepts public donations. Unlike chain thrift stores (like Goodwill), they have a lot more variety, and better (as in lower) prices. Also, they have more used furniture than any other second hand store I have been to, anywhere or ever before, in my life!I went in looking for a new coat for my four year old, because he had outgrown his, and the Fall weather was quickly turning cold. I didn't want to buy a new coat, since he outgrows them every season, and frankly new coats are super expensive.
Not only did I find a practically brand new coat, in his size, for just $2.99, I also ended up finding a few other things:
I also found a "Daily Gratitude" book, which has a theme of gratitude, for each day of the year, focusing on the blessings of your own life. I want to focus more on positivity and hope in the upcoming new year!
I also found this adorable hot pink purse, by Grace Adele, also in practically brand new condition. I try so hard not to buy more purses, but I couldn't resist! I have been using it ever since, and don't plan on switching anytime soon.
If you are on a budget, or just like saving money, second hand stores are the way to go! You can find pretty much everything you need, by visiting local second hand/thrift stores. Also the "hunt for treasure" experience is just so much fun!
